_ The depower rope is too big for me.
I don't need such a long dyneema/spectra line. What do you suggest?
Customizing the Kite Attitude bar is really easy. All you need to
do is reduce the length of the dyneema rope and the back flying lines
simultaneously, as shown below:
Today, most current kites require a bit more than 1 foot of length
to depower the kite. So it may be a good idea to reduce the size
of these ropes. Also, you may reduce the length so that you don't
need the stopper anymore. With today's kites, usually 48 cm of depower
is a good choice for experienced riders who don't want to use a stopper.
Similarly, if you don't need the red safety line with the red loop,
just remove it. Of course, you are an experienced rider.
_ The top of the Quick Releaser enters
into the bar for unhooked moves, but what is the point if the swivel
turns?
If you are using another chicken loop/quick releaser that is not
designed to "lock" into the bar, it will move freely in all 3 dimensions/directions
(x, y and z axis), and your only option will be to grab it with your
hand. The KA-Move quick releaser will be locked in 2 out of 3 axis;
plus, when you get the bar closer to your harness buckle, it will
gently rotate and hook back.
_ Is the bar really fitted for all kites?
The Kite Attitude bar works for ALL C-Shape and ALL bow kites. C-Shape
kites are first generation kites. Bow kites correspond to the latest
kites, such as Cabrinha kites.
The bar also works for most SLE/hybrid kites. SLE stands for Sustained
Leading Edge. To make it simple, the bar works for all brands on
the market (Takoon, Best, Naish, Slingshot, RRD, Eclipse, North,
Gin, Zeeko...), EXCEPT one kite brand:
- F-One Bandit One and Bandit Dos: back and front
lines
have
different
sizes
(due to a huge V on the leading edge)
However, the Kite Attitude bar is compatible with the newest F-One
Bandit Tres.
_ The bar is set up for 4 line-kites. Is it possible to add a
5th line?
5th lines tend to disappear from the market, so we
did not include it. However, if you need one, it is very easy to
set up.
All you need to do is to get in touch with us to get the 5th line
package.
We added another front line: the grey line. So you have 2 front
lines: the yellow one and the grey one.
The former red front line becomes your 5th line.
Warning: make sure to connect the 5th line with a leash with a quick
releaser device.
_ Is it possible to hook the leash on one back flying
line?
We have an upgrade kit for those of you that want such a setup.
Also known as "Oh
Shit" handle...
_ Any tips for maintaining the kite bar and/or the quick
releaser?
It is necessary to clean the bar and quick releaser with fresh water
after every session, otherwise sand and salt will ultimately damage
the kite lines and the quick releaser.
Salt in particular will dry up and get stuck inside the quick releaser,
thus damaging the anodized coating and maybe making the quick releaser
harder to release. In such case, we suggest that you use a product
to remove rust and salt, such as Rust
Release, that is environment
friendly or Naval
Jelly.
To prevent any potential corrosion, you might want to use products
such as Naval Jelly, or Rust
Defense (environment friendly).

_ What is the Afnor safety standard?
Afnor is the French safety organization that sets standards for
all industries. Afnor defines a safety standard for kitesurfing:
NF S 52-503.
A quick releaser meets the standard if:
- it takes less than 10kg of strengh to release, while the kite
is pulling 200 kg
- the quick releaser must be able to release even if it is full
of dry or wet (worse!) sand
- the quick releaser should not be distorted after a 300 kg pull
- snowkite safety standard: the quick releaser must be able to
release with less than 10 kg of strengh after it has been exposed
to ice and frozen water and
stored at -18°C for 24 hours ; according to our own knowledge,
Kite Attitude is the only company in the world that passed the snowkite
safety test
Unlike what people usually think, most gear on the market still
does not meet the French safety standard, by far.
To make sure your gear is secure, it should be written on it "Afnor
NF S 52-503".
The most dangerous quick releasers are "pin-based". The French Laboratoire
des Essais measured that these quick releasers may require 60 kg
of strengh (!) to release under heavy load, and sometimes more. This
is the reason why so many accidents occured.

safety regulation.
