_ is this quick releaser designed for all kinds
of kites?
Yes, this quick releaser was designed to fit all
activities: water, land, snow... Therefore, this
quick releaser works well for kitesurfing, landboarding,
snowkiting, etc...
_ this quick releaser complies
with the French Afnor Safety regulation; what does
this mean?
The FFVL (literally French free fly federation)
and Afnor (French safety regulations department)
defined stricts features for quick releasers, after
many accidents occured, due to poorly designed quick
releasers. As a result, a quick releaser is now supposed
to open with minimal effort, even under very strong
pull: assuming the pull is twice the weight of a
kitesurfer, the strength required to open the quick
releaser should be less than 10 DaN (10 kg). Plus,
the quick releaser has to work no matter what the
conditions are: warm or cold, in wet sand, ... Our
quick releaser therefore meets all these requirements
for pilots between 30 and 100 kg.
_ is it ok to use this quick releaser with pilots
over 100 kg?
Yes. We tested the quick releaser up to 280 kg of
pull. However, the strength required to open the
quick releaser may be a bit more than 10 DaN.
- Can I trust the back rubber
that prevents the quick releaser from opening?
This rubber is specific for salt water and marine
use. It has several holes that allows to choose how
tight you want it. We suggest that you replace it
every year (it's a spare part), eventhough it may
look good.
We actually provide 2 different types of rubbers
with each quick releaser, one is softer and the other
one is stiffer. So you choose which one you like
best.
_ can you make custom versions of your quick releaser?
Yes, we can. Some customers want their own color
scheme or different ways of operating it. We also
design specific versions for paragliding too.
Here are other possible setups:
_ I don't want the lines to
get tangled when I unhook and make rotations. Plus,
I am afraid the quick releaser may open inadvertantly.
What do you suggest?
We suggest you setup the freestyle handle and add
a swivel between the quick releaser and the front
lines (sold separately):

You may also use a depower strap with
a swivel, such as this one:
